Sometimes, changing ISPs, upgrading to the NBN, or changing modems might mean your local IP range changes (eg. from 192.168.1.XXX to 10.0.0.XXX) and this would cause remote viewing to stop working. Follow these steps to solve this issue.
If you have a DVR with Analogue cameras connected to it
- Login to your DVR
- Under Network settings, enable DHCP, if it is not enabled
- Alternatively, find the IP address for your modem (normally on the modem, or in the information provided with your modem). In the Network Settings page, with "DHCP" unticked, put your modem's IP address in the "Gateway" field, save the change, then tick "DHCP" and save again.
- Restart your DVR
All the cameras should be live on your mobile app.
If you have a NVR with IP cameras connected to it
You'll need to go through the same steps as above to re-connect your NVR to the "new" network.
But also for NVRs, you will need to make sure all cameras are on the same subnet as your network. The easiest method is deleting and re-adding all the cameras. Alternatively change the IP address on each camera manually via the network settings on each camera.
